How are parents to know if others truly believe their baby is cute? If you cant rely on your friends and family being honest, who can you rely on? The answer is simple. You can rely on people who dont know you or your baby, will never know you and your baby, and therefore have no fear of hurting your feelings and are free to be brutally honest. Furthermore, if there is a level of anonymity, and extrication from being abhorred for negative comments about a baby, I hypothesize that parents would get honest feedback.A 2008 CBS News article, "Is My Baby Cute? Really?", by Steve Hartman tackled just this topic. In it he talks about a photo contest for both cute and ugly baby pictures. Almost 200 people sent in pictures of their babies under the cute category, but not one single parent was willing to admit to having even an average offspring. Hartman further shopped around pictures of an "uglified" photo of his son, but only received comments on the cuteness of his baby. It is in recognition of the Kewpie Doll Syndrome and this gap between reality and feedback that Cute Tot or Not was created. Have you ever thought that your child was model material? Ever wonder what other people think of your tot? Dare to know the truth! Cute Tot Or Not was the created in support of the book Dear Milo: Outrageous Stories From Your Foul-Mouthed Mommy (http://www.amazon.com/Dear-Milo-Outrageous-Stories-Foul-Mouthed/dp/1461196981).
